Joe Flesher is Vice President of Standards and Process for Aramark, a global provider of innovative services in food, facilities management, and uniforms. Since joining the company Joe held a number of positions in food services, most recently in Global Operations Excellence, the unit responsible for enterprise productivity. Joe is noted for development of the operational processes that form the basis for a proprietary mobile platform. This platform, developed via user-focused design principles, provides field associates with tools and resources that guide them through the daily activities of food production across the many businesses Aramark serves.
Although an avid cook from childhood, Joe chose another path
and graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
In the following years he worked in technical support, sales, product
development, and management for DuPont, Atochem S.A., and Allied Signal. It was
during a three-year assignment in France that Joe had the opportunity to
experience the many cultures and cuisines of Europe. Deciding it was time to
make a change, he went back to school and graduated with a degree in Culinary
Arts. For several years he used skills in curriculum development and teaching
as Program Director for the New England Culinary Institute. Prior to joining
Aramark, he was the corporate chef for Alliant Foodservice.
Joe lives with his partner, Jim McCormack, in Grayslake, IL.
Between home renovation and landscaping projects, he and Jim enjoy traveling
throughout the Caribbean.
